Quantum F was succeeded by the Astro J, I think but no idea where from there.

I've completely lost touch with the current arai range, and I am trying to plan for a replacement as mine is getting old and nackered. I have liked both helmets a lot so want to go the same again.

It used to be the second from top model, so the equivalent to whatever that is now. Website isn't massively clear, and the range has grown.

If anyone of you magazine reading, up on the latest gear type people could shed any light i'd be most grateful.

The VIPER GT is the 2nd best in the range......the RX7-GP is the top of the line.

I thought the Astro-R replaced the Quantum, then the Astro-J. The Viper was meant to replace their Signet-GT i believe. Viper feels lush though and I wish i settled on that instead of a Corsair which I don't feel is the better lid on the road. Very damn comfortable still, but very noisy.

Quantum looks good, well looks like a viper but with the wider visor apeture of the RX-GP

Quick run down of the current Arai range from top to bottom:

RX7 GP £590 Top of the range all singing all dancing race lid, big visor, super vents, huge shell profile makes you look like the guy on dave for the speckled hen advert.

Viper GT £430 Great lid with all the features you need, LRS visor, removable liners, not got all the tartyness of the rx7 but keeps the best features.

Chaser £370 Only cheek pads removable, LRS visor again and has some very good designs this season, not quite as good build quality as the viper or rx7 with things like vents failing after very high milage (very cheap to replace -£5 most of the time and usually done at a service for free)

Astro Light £350 For super small heads sizes xxs and xxxs only, fantastic lid for the price if you can fit into it

Tour X3 £350-430 Supemoto/adventure type lid, very robust, built in visor and peak so no ghey goggles but if you buy the charley or ewan version prepared to be ripped to shreds

+ A few open faced ones, the freeway, szf and sz ram

Best option is to get to an independant 5 star dealer and try them, play with them and see which you like the best.
I used to sell them so can put you in touch with a very good 5 star dealer, if your interested PM me.

Hope thats of some help Thumbs Up
