Just had a good ole' browse of old school mates/friends & does anyone else feel weird seeing them again? They've all changed so much, some for better, some for worse.

Err, it's kinda cool how it works tho, although i did track down a girl through Myspace i had a date with once.

I'm still a newbie so haven't added many friends yet, will soon tho.

Yea, scary how fast time flies.

I think it's crappy when people just add 100s of people they don't know but for friends/family it seems to do the job nicely. I've had a quick look at Myspace & facebook seems loads better.

Yes...it is weird, especially as most of them look so old...!!! There will be a bit of a reunion at the end of this month though, as one of my old school mates has invited me to her birthday celebration...I haven't seen some of those people for 15 years or more...

I went to a reunion about four years ago, old secondary school has one every year. Ever since, I look forward to it with great pleasure knowing that I will have booked myself onto the track or at a rally that weekend and am unable to attend. I did not like most of those people whilst I was at school, I do not like them now.

Most of the ones I was good friensd with in school all have babies the same age as mine or are pregnant. The rest where pregnant at school. But found it strange when I was pregnant I found some of them and they where to, 3 of my best friends in the same class where pregnant at same time. Maybe if we send out kids to the same school they will be in the same class. Some I didnt mind finding again but some I dont know why they have added me as I never really liked them that much in school and dont even bother speaking to them now.
Still its nice to see what they are at and how they look and thats about it,.

I have looked for some of the foxy ones and generally end up feeling deflated.

I end up deleting them from my wank bank memory. The top 3 from my list remain unsearched for on Facebook. I don't think I could handle what I would see.

As to old mates. I do not have any on Facebook as I still see my little group on a regular basis some 19 years later.

I reckon many people are going about it the wrong way. Fuck the idea of compulsively collecting every name you hear as you're introduced to someone, or trying to catch up with all of the vaguely recalled nonentities from past eras of life. Social networking is vaguely interesting when it comes to making contact with new people, meeting new faces through people you already know and keeping up with people you do have some genuine interest in.

I really don't see why so many have this huge problem with the idea of what is effectively a virtual club house

About eight years back ( it was the night England beat Germany 5-1 in Munich) a car pulled up next to me as I was walking to a mates place, it was a nice car and the driver was an old school chum. He told me he had a partnership in his company and how he had been married for 17 years etc. I told him I was still bumming about with bikes and working with kids, he asked me if the 25 year old girl I was with was my daughter. I said no, this lucky chick gets to blow my nob tonight.
