Okay so it's my 10th wedding anniversary in a months time, which means buying presents made of or containing iron and/or diamonds. Well the diamonds are pretty easy obviously, but I can't think of many things that would make a good pressy made of iron!?

Being this is on BCF, I'm hopefully expecting some unusual and even some half decent replies with ideas of what I could get the lady? Laughing

In other words, help please!! Shocked

think skudd has a good idea here. Or maybe gates if they need them, an iron door mat, one of them iron things you hang pots off in the kitchen, patio set (an unconfortable one at that). Thinking

A good quality set of kitchen knives or some pans?

Some women would appreciate this, others would not.

They are steel which is mostly iron.

If you give a knife as a gift, remember to put some money in with it. Just something I got from my granny, apparently it's bad luck to send someone a knife without some "luck" money with it (and it's always worth listening to your granny). I think this dates back to a time when sending someone a knife was a message that you were declaring a vendetta and intend to kill them.

EDIT: le Cruset casserole dishes are made of cast iron. Thumbs Up

Cast iron pans if she's into cooking.

I've just bought a new induction hob and non of my pans will work on it so if she doesn't like them I'll buy them from her cheap Smile

Poker? Mr. Green

Joking aside, you can get some nice wroght iron ornaments or garden bits and bobs. I typed wrought iron into Ebay and there's about 2000 items.

On a related note, how much of a bargain is this:

Clicky

Cheers

Lol, I like the suggestings coming out of this, thanks all! Laughing Thumbs Up

Still not completely decided yet though, it's a toss up between the crow bar and the No More Nails at the moment. For our first Valentines day I bought her 2 glass ashtrays, a bread knife and an alarm clock so you can see the standards I'm having to keep up with. Wink

Problem is, if I try to do a search on Google or whatever for this kind of stuff you always get the usual rip off priced daft gifts they 'think' eveyone wants to give each other...

Or maybe just some tin foil. It's at least as interesting a present as an alarm clock Mr. Green

Cheers

Bollocks!! I was reliably (obviously not!) informed it was iron!? Rolling Eyes This is what I've now found...

Traditional: Tin
Modern: Diamond jewellery
Flower: Daffodils
Gem: Black onyx

Apologies to those who spent all morning racking their brains for me trying to think of brilliant presents made of iron, errrr - what about tin then? Laughing

I've never bought the wife a "traditional" anniversary gift, seems a bit naff nowadays. I'd probalbly get it back with full force over the head.
