A friend of a friend has asked me to paint his ped for him. Not I have painted stuff before but want to do a decent job and get the right paint etc.

What paint should I use for metallic black?

I want to use rattle cans as my air brush is tiny.

Anyone got a link to some good paint that will work and not scratch easily.

Cheers

I know someone who painted their car bumper in halfords spray paint and the result was terrible (prep was done well and it was all done properly) so stay away from that stuff.

You can get a decent finish using rattle cans - I redid most of my fairing and as long as you do some decent prep work then the results look good.

Anyone got any links to some rattle cans that will do the job? I have no idea what type of paint to use on plastics.

All I know is hammerite on metal Laughing

I once used hammerite in a spray gun, sprayed it in the bowl and sprayed it on, took ages to do but worked.

I've used Halfords rattle cans before.

The result was ok, especially considering I did bugger all prep and did it in my backgarden in autumn. Laughing

Just Matt Black it.

not my bike and he wants metallic black. Found out it is a neos 50 pedda. Laughing

I understand (especially with rattle cans) prep is the most important bit.

Just wondering if anyone has any brands they used with pics of the finished product.

I'll go and get a pic of my TS side panel, also done with halfords paint (ford electric monza blue over red plastic, no primer. came out in an even colour and is sticking just fine)
