sell it and buy a bike which is meant to go fast. i know it sounds harsh but all they are really meant to do is get you about, not go fast or handle well.

You could get more power by knocking the baffles out of the exhausts, bolting on a pair of individual k&ns, and rejetting, but thats rather pointless for the perfomance gain you could expect on an aircooled low compression 500 twin.

My GS500 goes fast enough for me and handles fantastically now I've stiffened up the front suspension. It isn't a race bike so if you do want the most out of it, the usual will work, race can, K&N etc....

Go Here for a modification of the stock can to make it louder. There aren't many things you can do to make it faster, but a GSX600F rear shock improves the handling. Progressive springs in the front forks are a good thing to have to, as there is far too much dove in the forks under hard braking
