Got My NSR

hey all

got my NSR today (cheers mark sound chap)

Went out , never rode gears before, stalled it about 3 times nearly got mowed down by a cement truck as i stalled in the middle of the road.

Stalled a few other times

Weird things happen like i blasted it round the retail park went into 3 gear approached the corner braked slightly and accelerated and the back end skidded lol

How can i grease the clutch cause its really stiff give me blisters already
I mean the clutch lever is stiff

Back arms and neck ache Lovely bike though.

i'm well pleased Very Happy

Try adjusting the clutch, or oiling it, it could help.
Or you just haven't got used to it at the moment thats all.

The NSR has a good seating, try sitting on a Mito or An RS.

You got the back wheel to spin in third on a corner?
What the hell was you doing#? lol.

Yea, but your seat's extra soft on the NSR Scotty...... all the water that must have soaked into it has turned it into a "water seat"!

Is it sticky? Try washing it with warm soapy water.

oh what fun

nearly killed myself batting through town touching 70, first time i had been over 55 and i was crapping myself.

That clutch though its soo hard, i cant use my gloves or it makes it worse, i have 4 blisters, on the side of my thumb and middles of each fingers from it, i tried mate RS clutch and it was smooth as anything

It doesnt need adjusting it works fine, how do i lubricate it? take it off and squirt WD40 or oil down the plastic casing?

Sounds like the cable might be on its way out? (frayed inside the casing or something).

Glad your pleased with it mate. Just needs grease squirting down the cable. Keith says a new cable might be the better option though.

Some ones selling one on ebay if that helps.
Its a pattern part but i can't see any problems with it.
I was gonna buy it for spares.

But if you need it you might aswell get bidding.

And mark's clutch has always been a bit stiff. Just get some muscles, your hand will get used to it.

Hey mate

its an absolute beast lol

I didn't have a clue about gears i was changing gear between 5 and 6 k lol, now i seemed to have more courage tonight taking it up to 8k but it vibrates a lot. But it pulls well.

I hate pulling away, i'm fine if there is no cars behind me, but if there is cars i just bottle it do it to quick and stall it lol

Another thing i need to practice is going down gears to a roundabout, i find its better to stay in 2nd if the roundabout is clear enough but if its busy i pull up and then decide whether to go 1st or 2nd.

How many kilometers should it do to a fivers worth. I was out all day and i turned this corner and it died on me, i was like, WTF? oh reserve! lol
put a fiver in , done 29 km since 7 pm probably about 85kms today.

Great fun tho

tomorrow i'm gonna do the tickover cause it just conks out when it is hot, ticks over at just over 1k and then drops after say 10 secs

Mark when did it last have a plug change?

Overall very impressed, i swear it will a piece of urine to ride when that clutch isn't like that. i feel like i got arthritis, good job it wasn't my right hand Wink

It will do around 150~170k to reserve, which is 8 litres.

Reserve is 2 litres.

Probably because it was dark and i had a helmet on, wasn't used to that:)
