Cheap winter hack / Big Single

Hi guys,

I'm after a bike to get me through the winter. Just had my old CB500 written off and struggling to find something in my price range which gets the pulse racing.

I've decided I may postpone the proper bike hunt until the spring, so I have up to £1,000 to spend on something to tide me over.

I live in Bristol and I'm prepared to travel ~60 miles to collect.

Anything considered (and I mean anything!).
