Afternoon,

So my tyres are looking a tad thin both front and rear, have an MOT coming up end of November, so I'm guessing some new tyres will be in order by the time it comes round.

I did a search on BCF, and from the threads I read, what I gathered was that I'd be best off with a Bridgestone 010 on the front and 020 on the rear.

Thing is I'm looking round for prices and when I'm looking at these tyres, a whole list of options comes up and I have no idea what they mean.

For example, I believe I need a 180 for the rear tyre, but there are 11 different options for a 180 020 tyre here: https://www.busters-accessories.co.uk/productinfo/566306/Tyres/Road-tyres/Bridgestone

....what the hell does all that mean? I know nothing about tyres at all so if someone could point me in the direction of the exact tyres I need so that I can then go price comparing that'd be splendid.

Cheers,

GhostRider

I had the original Hornet with the 16 inch front wheel.. Which bridgestones dident do a front for. As a result i ended up with Pirelli Diablos, I recommend them Thumbs Up

As for size just take the thing into a good local tyre fitters whos job it is to know...

Thanks,

Thing is I have a friend who works in the tyre industry and he said anytime I need tyres to give him a shout, but he lives quite far away so it'd be more convienient to tell him exactly what I'm after so he can quote me happy........ if I read out the numbers on the side of the tyre would that tell him all he needs to know?

Have a lookie on the side of your tyres dude.

Should have 3 numbers. Most likely be a 120/70/17 on the front (depends on the year of your hornet?) and a 180/55/17 on the rear.

180 is the width of the tyre, 55 is the profile (height from the rim to the edge of the tyre) and the 17 is the size of the wheel rim.

Those numbers are all he should need to know. Thumbs Up
