For the second time ever on my RS125 I got out accelerated by a car Sad

It was one of these >>>

https://www.audi-tts.co.uk/Red_TT_Coupe.gif

Pretty damn fast, I was pushing almost 80MPH and still accelerating hard when this geezer over took. Was pretty impressed.

Does anyone know the retail price on one of these?

Audi TT 1.8 I believe it was, probably a turbo diesel.

LOL @ turbo diesel, i shouldn't think so.

The standard 1.8t does 60 in around 8 seconds, and cost 25k (i'd rather have lots of bikes Very Happy)

Most 125s will have trouble out accelerating cars above 60-70mph. The wind resistance starts to become a major problem alond with the lack of power.

0-60 of a TT is around 0.5 sec's faster than a 2 stroke 125. Very Happy
And after 60 you don't even have a hope, the car has much better aerodynamics. Razz

Didn't you people know that? Wink Very Happy

You know what my suggestion is? Get a bigger bike. Razz Very Happy

Funniest thing happened to me today.

Was sitting in traffic behind a Porche Carrera(sp) convertable type thingy. He looked around and saw me pull up behind him and decided to redline his car to show me how good it was, hhhmmmm me just having the scorpions fitted couldnt resist, revved the bike up a few times bounced it off the limiter, the twat moved straight out the way Smile

Car drivers when will you learn? Very Happy

That's one of the (few) cool things about twins - the aggressive blipping tone. But the most fun comes when you combine an underseat exhaust, race cans, and a convertable car behind you. Razz

Next Door Neighbour has one, and luckily my dad is on their insurence list (they tend to go on holiday alot and where left to look after the house / cars etc...)

Which can be a bit of a perk as the have a mercedes kompresser thing and that Audi, and also one of them people carrying evil chysler things.

And the Audi TT is a fairly poky car. But the best thing about the car is its grip, the thing seems to take islands with no loss of grip.

Till you get out the car and smell the 5 mm of rubber you just took off.

1 exhaust on the TT means 180bhp 1.8 litre Turbo

2 exhuasts means 225bhp 1.8litre turbo

now they have a third model a 3.2 litre V6 with 250bhp, again 2 exhausts and it differs by being abit tarty. You'll notice the difference.

Have fun.

Laughing Which, unlike the Audi TT, is a boy racers car... See the reasoning behind him beating it? Laughing

I like the Audi TT. I went in (not driving myself Very Happy ) a 3.2l Z3 and 225bhp 1.8l TT on the same day, so I got to compare them quite well, and to be honest I prefer the kick of the turbo you get in the TT. Although, as the the Z3 is 300odd bhp of 100% pure engine power it does feel nice, it is a smooth power curve all the way up the rev range and is in no way lacking power.

Both really good cars IMO. Very Happy

Z3's are hairdresser's cars.
If i had the choice between that and an RS Turbo i'd go for the Escort. Have you ever heard them tick over, sound like tanks, go like shit.

Well, you my friend are obviously a boy racer. Razz

You would choose a heap of shite RS Turbo over a 3.2l BMW. One word, wrong!

I personally think that Z3s were overhyped (look cool from the front, but lost it at the rear), and performance didn't match other cars in it's class...having said that, I've never set foot in one so I'll shut my mouth about it's relative performance.

I would definately take the Z3 over the boy racer mobile...'cos I can probably sell it for quite a few grand, and get a proper performance car Razz

RS Turbo's aren't any boy racer cars, nobody can afford the insurance because so many have had them written off, but i would still choose them over that Z3 hairdresser car bollocks Razz .

Lee just summed it up in three letters. Razz

I'm not even gonna warrant your last post with a reply. I'm guessing you would choose the RS over an Audi TT then?
