Hiya,

Clic Sargent which is a registered national charity, is holding their 5th Annual Barry Sheene Memorial Motorcycle Challenge 2010, in memory of Barry Sheene and to raise money for their charity.

The Barry Sheene Memorial Challenge, is spread over 10 days touring Europe covering around 1700 miles and taking in some of the race tracks Barry raced on. The aim is to get as many bikers together to ride in memory of Barry Sheene whilst raising money for the charity.

All the information is on Clic Sargent's website for anyone who might be interested in taking part.

I have registered to take part in the challenge myself, at the moment i am the only female in the United Kingdom registered, it should be a good laugh with plenty of time for a good piss up.

I am waiting on WSB final dates being announced which, should be in the next couple of weeks, once these have been announced i am hoping to be able to confirm a date for bringing James Toseland MotoGP rider soon to be WSB rider and his band CRASH to Glasgow for a charity concert. This will be the first time CRASH have played in Scotland.

Anyone interested give me a shout.

170 miles a day? That's not a lot. 3 hours ish a day. Hardly a challenge... More of a road trip/holiday...

If I'd seen how weak her challenge was I wouldn't have corrected you.

I also forgot to add the Razz emoticon. Very Happy Karma

Obviously not. But she still probably watches Braveheart* whilst screaming at the TV, "Look what you bastards did to us" etc, etc.

I had that once. Friends Mum was livid watching it, looked at me and said "look at what you English did to us". I replied "I couldn't give a f*ck. It was years before my time. F*ck all to do with me. Mr. Green

*Everyone knows that Braveheart is 100% fact... Rolling Eyes

I only joined the site and to be honest your replies are extremely childish. You obviously have no respect for Barry Sheene nor any respect for children with cancer, these children have not had a chance to lives their lives, unlike yourselves.

Evidently the links cant be dead otherwise someone wouldnt have got a picture. Too be honest i suffer from MS and to take on this challenge i will be travelling approx 2700 miles.

If this is the mentality of this site i would much rather not be a member of it. At least there is some people in the world whose heads arnt stuck so far up their own arses. I am not racist in any form whether your Scottish, English, Irish or Welsh as to braveheart, i couldnt even tell you what its about.

Evidently you dont require new members with the attitude, i didnt realise it was an English born member only site.

The purpose of the challenge is nothing to do with how many miles are covered and at what rate per day. Its an experience being part of Barry Sheene's Team, raising awareness that children actually do get cancer, even though the world would make you think its only smokers that get cancer, raising funds to help the children and make their lives that little bit easier.

Everyone has cancerous cells in their bodies, its whether these cells and fluids meet up determines whether we get cancer, not really something you make fun of.

When Barry Sheene lost his life to cancer his family choose Clic Sargent as their chosen charity, therefore, in memory of a racing legend this event takes place each year to allow bikers to show their respects to a legend whilst raising money for children with cancer as the goverment which taxes us to the hills, would much rather send our money from United Kingdom overseas than use our money where it is needed in the United Kingdom.

Supporting any charity is down to each individual's choice and no one forces anyone to part with their hard earned cash, that is the choice of the individual should they wish to donate whether it be for cancer, because a member of their family has died from it or whether it be because of a childhood memory of Barry Sheene their legend. You chose your own thoughts no-one chooses them for you, therefore, you should never feel obliged to do something you dont want to.

The events that i am holding are based in Scotland and when people are donating or attending an event they like it if the money is staying in their own country, they like to hear their hard earned cash they just spent will be staying in their country, not because any child is any less thought of.

A bit like you work your ass off and your taxed and the government send it overseas when it could be getting used here, eg/ road tax, council tax and is the money used for fixing roads NO, its probably sent abroad again or in some fat cats pockets.

The event is a challenge for me in its self, but the satisfaction of the feedback i got from organising a charity dance, the people who said they had a fantastic night, the work involved and the satisfaction of raising money for children who have not yet had the chance to live their lives.

When the date is confirmed for James Toseland and his band Crash, this will be the first time James has ever played in concert in Scotland, the amount of bikers emailing me to see if dates have been confirmed because they cant wait to see him.

My aim is to raise as much money as possible, have a laugh with fellow bikers from England, Wales & Ireland when doing the challenge and hopefully give a lot of people enjoyment through my charity events. The only way i can do this is to mention it on relevant websites and spread the word about the challenge incase other bikers would like to take part or not able to take part but, would like to support the cause or in memory of Barry donate.

Its fun getting involved with something like this and brings lots of people together, to have someone slag you off about braveheart sitting in front of the telly eating biscuits and shouting at the telly is uncalled for. He forgot to mention we run around fields chasing haggis.

I had applied to be added to the scottish section to let the bikers there know i was in talks with James Toseland's PA to bring him to Scotland for the first time playing in concert with his band Crash and waiting on confirmation of the date. Thought they would like to hear of a good piss up next year with WSB rider.
