I quite liked Stephen Gately (no, not in a sexual way so shut your mouths). He always came across as a polite, mild-mannered and well-groomed (no pun intended) young man. He reminded me of myself (apart from the gay stuff). It was therefore quite disturbing to learn that all was not happy in his ''marriage'' and that he was, it would seem, a battered husband/wife.
