anyone got a spread sheet with a list of car insurance companies on for me to ring round ? or any good insurance companies for young drivers ?

I'm finding it really difficult to find quotes for less than 2k
Neutral on pretty basic cars like 1.4 focus on parent policies. It's a fooking joke.

Churchill
Bell
Admiral
Elephant

Give these a try. These are probably the only places that gave me decent quotes.

Little point being on parents policies, you'd be fucked if you needed to claim against the policy (they're all wise to kids getting insured as a named driver) and you don't get any NCB.

List of car insurance companies.

Get as many quotes as possible, don't restrict yourself to just companies that other people recommend, unless your situation is identical to theirs then just because that company was cheapest for them doesn't mean it'll be the cheapest for you.

Phoning around will take ages, but spend an afternoon phoning around and you should save lots of money.

you have tried comparison sites I hope.

Think carefully about the type of car, if you think it is a sensible choice & common to find, then so will thousands of other young drivers. Think outside the box on car choice, and as said do the policy in your own name.

Going for the wrong car, as mentioned you have to go for something that most other people in your situation wouldn't think about.

Something like a Proton would probably be good, or maybe even an older VW Passat or a Volvo S40 or something.
