just wondering im going to be doing my dt125lc soon and its got a shit dirty engine but i dont no the best way to clean it up for the best so this is where all you helpful people come in out their at BCF ?

Use Engine Degreaser, brush it all over the outside of the engines, brushing it in then wash it down. I find this the best route to start with. Once you have done so, you can see whats what once all the crap has come off it.

You cant ride it on the road yet anyways so why make it look gleamingingly clean if its going to be covered in mud when used off road?

Am I missing something here?

The general principle is:

Soap and water to rid the majority of the crud.
Oil based degreaser (like WD40, petrol or the likes) with a paint brush into all the nooks and crannies.
Water based degreaser to get rid of the oil based one, again with a paint brush.
Soap and water again to rinse and sparkle.
