Dunno if I spelt title wrong but here is my predicament.

I have been waring a textile jacket since I started riding.

But today I got a leather one and straight away was taking corners a lot faster

Is this normal?

It works on the same principle as having new trainers as a kid made you run faster, it's all in your head...

It's different with trainers. You went even faster if the tread carried on up the toe Laughing Don't forget lights, they were the best performance mod.

Leather is smoother than textile = less wind drag = faster. Easy.

various answers spring to min;

1/ yes.

2/ The dimples on a golf ball aid accuracy not speed, keeping it stable in flight. So I suppose you could argue that textile bikers are more accurate, careful, slower.

3/ The last time I saw one is when your missus popped one across the room into a pint glass. Proving my accuracy point and making me wonder at her pelvic floor control.

the dimples in a golf ball are there yes for accuracy, but mainly for less drag,

Ahh, I never had trainers with the light mod...

Although when I was about 14 I saved up for a pair of Nike Air Icarus ( I think they were ) and at the time white jeans were the go so I had a pair of them aswell, the Nikes got dirty the one day so I thought I'd wash them along with the white jeans, now, I always washed the jeans on a boil wash ( can you see what's coming ? )...

So I throw the jeans and trainers in the wash, set it to boil and go out, twenty minutes later I realised what I'd done, but alas it was to late, the jeans where fine as usual but the Nikes, that I'd had a fortnight, had shrunk by two sizes and the heels had ballooned out so they looked like spacker shoes, I was fucking Gutted...

legend.

I had the light shoes, they were toy story ones.

I felt so cool.

I might have a look at modding some of my trainers in the near future... just for the lights....

hmm....

Good idea?

I must disagree with this as the best performance mod was done with the aid of your coat being used as a cape made you superfast

It's all about the tread patterns on the soles - as a lad, my main concern (and first question asked in a shoe shop) was whether they had 'good grips' or not.
