After finally getting my off road wheels to fit the dt230 i took it out for some laning through harwood forest today Very Happy

Absolutely chucking it down so the forest was a bit of a challenge in places but it was great fun.
Avon distanzias are absolutely useless in the rain and i might aswell have had my supermoto wheels on for what good they were in the mud Thumbs Down

Turns out my 100% waterproof gloves are far from waterproof,same goes for my waterproof pants and even my rigger boots had puddles in 'em Sad

My £28 ebay special spada jacket does exactly what it says on the tin,didn't let a drop through. Thumbs Up

the tires dont look like offroad tires anyway how much did they set you back ?

Mate You're wheels look to be semis. I fitted myself with a Michelin set, I didn't size up but I should have because I dont trust them on corners.

I have my complete offroad tyres but they're really useless when on the road. I have to have my semis put on 24/7 because it costs too much to swap the tyres whenever i might wna go off road. I'm just going to have to buy some bare rims and place the off roads on and swap em whenever I wan go for a mudabout.

Did your bike come with all those 'accessories'

It’s more of a ‘sliding scale’ than just saying a tyre is ‘semi’ off-road. Those look like they’re designed for say 95% road use.
I’ve been using the Enduro 3 Sahara on my KTM690, which is maybe 80% road use. I’ve also been using the MT21, which is maybe 25% road use / 75% off-road.
If you’re looking for a decent dirt tyre that won’t die on the road, I can recommend these. They’ve done reasonable amounts of road-miles on my CCM and on the KTM even after doing maybe three hundred more miles on the road, they still weren’t showing it.
They do make quite a noise sitting at 70mph, but make up for it by working well off-road, including in mud etc. At 5psi or so (with tubliss which is a tubless system that offers a very good rimlock too, so don’t try this at home kids!) they handled some some pretty nasty loose rocky ascents.

Incidetnally, all you need to change dirt tyres is a set of tyre levers. It does take a while to get used to and if you're not careful when you're first doing it, you'll probably puncture a few innertubes doing it - should be fine if you are careful though, more haste less speed and that Smile

your in the exact opposite boat to me, the crm I got as a replacement has some hardcore knobblies that are just as bad on road as your distanzia's are off road lol.
