Just watched it and all I can say is WTF?

If you have watched it, then you will know what I mean.

If not, WATCH IT! There are torrents about.

Seems like a typical romance problem film but just turns surreal about half way through. Did not expect that.

A guy i'm subscribed to on youtube analyze's movies for subliminal messages & whatnot & this film is littered with them.
Something the director is well known for.

It's been a while since i've seen it, I do remember feeling similarly confused, but left with a feeling of generally liking the film.

It has a feeling similar to Vanilla sky I think - even though the two directors are worlds apart - in its surrealism, and the film doesn't quite answer all your questions and leaves it open to interpretation, which I quite like in a lot of films.

The controversy about the whole thing is the fact that it was Kubricks last film before his death, and nobody quite knows whether he rated it or not, did it turn out how he wanted it? Was it finished? I guess we will never know.

Might have to dust it off and watch it again now that you've reminded me of it.
