What's my PS3 worth and other Xbox questions...

I've got a 40Gb PS3 I'm thinking of flogging. It's got 8 games :

COD 4 Modern Warfare
COD 4 Modern Warfare 2
Uncharted Drake's Fortune
Burnout Paradise
Guitar Hero III with Guitar
Grand Theft Auto 4
PES 2008
Metal Gear Solid 4

What do you reckon I should offer it up for sale at? Should I sell the PS3 on it's own and the games separately?

I'm after getting an xbox - what's the one to go for? Are they chippable?

You can chip a Xbox, but look in the news this week. Microsoft just banned any chipped Xbox from going online.

I'd say go for it if you only want to play single player stuff. If you want to go online at all (and i think this includes updates and patches) then I'd hold off chipping an Xbox until some work around is found.

They now only sell 2 models of the Xbox, and the only one worth looking at is the Elite. The cheap one is not worth anything as you really need the hard drive. Bog standard price is about £200, though most people do packs which have a couple of games for this price. Then remember the extras if you want them, such as the charger cables and battery packs for the controllers (£15), a Wi-Fi connection if you need it (£50) and your annual subscription to use it on line (£35)

As for the PS3

I'd say you'd probably get a better price splitting it up. If your looking to get a new Xbox, it's always worth seeing what you can get in trade in value as some are doing good deals at the moment, and as you have some new games you should get a good price.

Can I ask though, why the change from one system to the other?

Not really considered the trading in option so will look at that.

All my mates have Xboxes so would like to have a go playing them. Also, I had a very brief go on Forza 3 the other day and realised how much I miss a decent driving game - the GT games never really did it for me.

Don't you think the timing is impeccable of the banning?
Just before Christmas they announce the ban, and in their own words that it's permanent and you have to buy a new XBox.
Hence more Christmas sales. Arses.

I'm trying to avoid eBay - I've paid them more than enough in charges this year. That's why I'm after a guide price to what it's all worth so I can sell it on somewhere like AV Forums.
