I had this dream that I was driving/riding near the Heartlands Hospital in Brum and noticed a fishing rod in the road. The line on it was very fine (about 2lb breaking) I looked about and there was no traffic so I tried casting with it, The line travelled forward quite a way (75 meters or so)and caught on a sign on a roundabout, at this point a lad on a sports bike passed me at speed. I dropped the rod low and tried to snap the line it but would not break, he saw it and hit it whilst breaking hard, as he came to a halt at the roundabout his bike flipped over breaking the line and all of his plastics. I gave the rod to a little boy who told me he had dropped it.
Who is at blame for this accident?
OK I did cast the line but it was very weak and could not have stopped 160 kg of bike.
The rider was speeding, it is a 30 limit.
The little boy looked shifty, could he be a demon?

You need some professional help Laughing

Weird dream. And while a weak line might break from a 160MPH impact it might also exert enough force on the rider to throw them off balance and come right off regardless.

If he'd been riding a 1930 Ariel instead of a sportsbike:

a) The front "baconslicer" numberplate would have cut the line.

and

b) He couldn't have braked hard enough to flip over, even if he'd wanted to.

So it is the riders fault for failing to anticipate this could happen and chosing his vehicle accordingly.

Obviously, he was positioning himself to the outside of the bend to see if there were any small fish in the road up ahead. Do I even need to say that?

Personally (and this is not admissible in court, I will not give permission for an affidavit), I think it's poor obs. He was there looking for fish. He should have been looking for light gauge fishing line too. And ffs a seventy five year old reptile with a beard the size of a dinnerplate in control of the fishing rod by the side of the road would be a bloody big clue that something is about to go a little titzup....

The big black line, by the way is a skidmark, but it should be brown and faecal. It's a limitation of the doodling software. Sorry.

The dream stems back to Ariels childhood where he slept with his Mother while his Dad was out fishing and Ariel being a child didn't bring his mother to full climax. Thumbs Up

Thank you all for the help and the Diagram from Mr Stuntman. I do feel absolved of blame especially seeing that the biker was on the wrong side of the road and I now recall that he gave me the finger.
No one seems to have used the obvious Freudian analogy with the fishing rod and for this I am grateful.

The rule of BCF is that its never the bikers fault, or the original posters fault.

This leaves the little boy, who is clearly a demon.

Children are born evil, some are civilised and taught how to behave, others arent.

I have not seen such a rule, you are required to give links and quote in full the rules of BCF

Quote:
bikers

You need to define Biker

Quote:
never the bikers fault

It has been shown that the fault sometimes does lay with the biker.

There is also a tradition of a line by line rebutal

That is a Flame if ever there was one, coming from someone who still worships the moon and thinks the earth is flat. And wears leathers two sizes too big. I bet your family has a third nipple and webbed feet, Just praying for global warming so you can put them to good use.

One of those was once true, as I did have some leathers that were too big, but I've now grown into them Smile

I guess this is another rule of BCF, that things have to go off topic within 10 posts.
