Chicken Strips or Fanny Bands are the outer edges of the tyre that you are to ' Chicken ' or ' Fanny ' to scrub off when leant over in corners...

It's another macho contest thing like getting your knee down, however this one I do participate in. Smile)

Chicken strips are the outer unworn edges of the tire that haven't been used, the more you lean the bike over the smaller your strips are.

Mine are usually fairly minimal, as are Dukan's and Byrnys.
