Its because your winding the throttle back more.

If i fill up and bollock the bike everywhere ill get about 50 - 55mpg

if i take it easy stay with traffic with the occasional burts of speed i get about 80mpg.

It must be that you're not using the bike to it's full potential then. Everyone I've ridden with from BCF will tell you it can doo 100mph.

Hi

It should easily do more than you are getting out of it at the moment. However it is a sports 125, and you really do have to thrash them to the red line through the gears to get the best out of them. At 75 in top it hasn't even got to the power band really.

I would not have bothered fitting the 10 spark plug. Maybe if you are really thrashing the bike but you aren't. Maybe go for the colder plug if you are thrashing it down the motorways at high revs (is, cruising at 90+).

All the best

Keith

Tis true your not trying hard enough.
Marks used to pass mine with no trouble at all at about 70. so if your only getting to 75 your not chainging at the right time...

I'll back you up!

Mine did 100 if I tried.

Though if you do thrash it, it will use more petrol. It's the same with cars (/me remembers Gav's cute fuel consumption gaugeo n his BMW).

But thats what makes a bike so much fun to ride, trying not to get caught speeding!

If you keep running out of road find a decent A road with no roundabouts within a short distance of each other, stay in the fast lane and thrash it!
