It appears the government are investigating claims im a benifit cheat due to me supposedly working for the past year and claiming 'dole'.

So, oh wise men, whats the best course of action? (old workplace have told the 'diggers' that i havent worked there since 08)

Discussssssssssss Laughing

I was going to say that if you're innocent then you have nothing to worry about.

However, that isn't always true these days...

Will just play it by ear for the time being....let them waste some more tax payers money investigating Cool

I havent had a letter through to say anything, was informed by my old workplace that people from the government had been ringing up asking questions relating to the subject...

Well you say you've officially been out of work a year, have you actually not worked since then? If so then I see no problem, if you have then as and when they prove it you may be in trouble, question is why would there be an investigation if there wasn't reasonable belief or an accusation by someone.

Just remember, they may try to call you in for an "interview under caution".

If they do so, it's up to you to decide if you want to attend and it is worthwhile reading into your rights under such circumstances before the time comes.

The PACE act works in your favour just as much as it does theirs but they have been known on occasion to use mildly bullying and underhand tactics to intimidate or trick you into admitting something. If you know your rights, you can confidently tell them where they get off (while the tape is running) then leave.

Seems someone has been tracking my movements...

After chatting with my mate who works at my old place, I have a feeling its someone trying to get back at me for somthing.... (havent a clue what! But i think i know who it might be..)

It doesnt seem logical for the government ( or whoever) to just pick on me for no reason? I have visited my old place of work a few times, my bike would be parked outside...so the person who has dobbed me in must know me, my name, the fact i used to work there and that i visit the shop....

So now i have someone from the government looking over my shoulder the whole time.... Mad

Happened to me a few years ago. I was accused, falsely, by a neighbor who had a grudge I assume.

I played it straight with the DSS (how those two s's look....), no problems since. It's not very nice when it happens though cos they treat you as guilty.

As for PACE, pointless for them really except to scare you with as they are not the police...........
