Some sods nearly had my NSR

My mate got a phonecall to say that someone had tried to make off with my bike but my brother heard a bang, went out and scared them off.

They dropped the bike and ran, 2 of them. Broken break lever is all i can see. Now my mum is definitely moving

The scum that tried it off with my bike, they haven't touched the ignition or nothing.

When i turn the ignition on, there is nothing. No lights , indicators , horn etc.

Bump starts fine.

If i leave it for a while it goes back to normal. Then once i have used the bike again i have no electrics.

Maybe there's a loose connection somewhere? Although it sounds like a regulator/rectifier type problem.

yeah and when i got above 5 - 6000 revs it sounds like a hoover.

they probly just pulled some wires out the back of the ignition switch i know on myn ( some dicks had away with it once) that if u undo 1 connect behind the head lamp then u can bump it GRGRGRGRG

they didn't touch anything , just pushed it out the garden, got disturbed and dropped it.

The rev counter only goes up to 3000 revs. temp gauge dont work.


doesn't accelerate well, does about 45 in 5th gear and its making a loud pum pum pum sound.Is this the RC valve not working.

Ill try a fuse. Mate says its the battery but ive heard its the alternator.

Ive just noticed , the rear hanger part is snapped.

When i press the rear brake that hole piece of gold frame is cracked in 3 places so it bends down when the brake is pressed.

You only have yourself to blame really. Having a motorbike with no locks / chains is silly imo, unless you have a garage like fort knox.
Give it another week or 2 and TGE will have completely killed that bike

Wasn't my fault thieving scum took a fancy to it.

Last night, a total of 4 houses were robbed and cars robbed.

Ever heard of steering lock, it takes a whole extra 30° of hand rotation when leaving the bike, enough to stop silly kids being able to run off with it.

Have you checked the main fuse? I don't see how they'd have killed it, but what you're describing sounds about right.

No i havent been thrashing it. I have never gone past 75mph.

The electrics WERE ballsed up before the attempted theft last night.

It all started since i fitted the 12v 23w max relay for my baby indicators.

The current symptoms are.

No life with ignition on, but bumpstarts fine.

When engine is on, headlights go dim and bright with the revs of the engine. If i pull the front brake the headlight goes brighter and if i switch the headlights on and off continuously the rev counter bounces all over the place.

If your going to winge at me i wont bother asking for help. I had enough with mother and winging. ' don't take girls on your bike' 'dont ride up and down the path' 'dont ride sitting on the middle bit ( tank) ' go get a job do something.

and what upsets me even more is the fact the girl i was going with last night decides she just wants to be friends

Sounds like your battery is disconnected or knackered.

I got a reading of around 11 - 12 volts with the multimeter.

I replaced the fuse beside the battery on the right hand side of the bike.
