Retro fitting rev-counter

My Wr125X doesn't have a rev counter fitted as standard, and I am looking to fit one as its not always easy to hear what the engine is doing on such a small bike.

The YZF R125 which shares the same engine has one from the factory, however it would be too large to retrofit to the WR.

Does anyone know of any good small aftermarket ones that I could use?

I have fitted them to cars before by taking a feed from the coil, is it the same on a bike?
Excuse my ignorance but I have very limited experience working on bikes.
I think one around 50mm would fit nicely near the speedo, just need to find one that goes up to around 12,000 RPM
