If they used the EXC/SX 125cc engine restricted to 15hp with the option of 35hp and an easy upgrade to 200cc, it might make more sense (though still a bit dodgy for stunts).
Then there's the weight, etc.

If you want a road KTM125, just get an EXC and stick SM wheels on Smile

From £1300 second hand, getting on for £4k new, maybe more, I suspect.
