Hey i have come of my bike to many times now and i want to get some body armor i was just wondering if anyone knows the best make etc i have been looking at alpinestars bionic one, i want something i can wear over like a long sleeve t shirt in the summer ect but still protected cheers  price isnt an issue

You will be protected for the first impact, maybe.
Then, quite possibly, the suit will rip off as it's not designed to be abrasion resistant. Should you then hit anything else, not only will you be missing quite a lot of skin, but you won't have any armour left either.
I have actually done exactly this quite a bit (wearing the kit, not the crashing with it on, on roads) when it's warmer. However this has been purely for riding between off-road sections, not fun road riding*.
*Except, err, I was having some fun riding back from some off-road bits in spain, but I was well aware I was effectively not-protected and tried to ensure I was riding decently within my skill levels, ie as if I wasn't wearing any protection. |

I think if you do alot of city riding having armour alone isnt a bad thing as i would imagine most crashes would be impact rather than abraision related.

I have a jacket similar to this, which incudes an integral back protector and kidney belt:

The sections you can see in grey there are a mesh which allows it to be relatively cool. The armoured pieces on the arms and shoulders have straps which adjust to keep them tight to the boady part they are protecting.
I picked it up form a trader at Rock and Blues for about £40 when I got my first CG125 and wore it consistantly for the first two years, after which I wore it whenever I wasnt feeling overly confident.
It is begining to die and I am considering getting a replacement next year, however it has gone down the road with me several times and I have always been pleased to be wearing it.
During the summer around Leicester I tend to wear it under a Denim jacket to take the worst of the abrasion in the event of an incident, however if I am going to be on a quick road I always stack leather over the top.
I recommend them, and they can still be found from eBay sellers for around £40.

Personally for "additional" armour I like Knox, but that's just me.
