Restriction compatibility

Hi, looking at getting myself another bike but still have a around 8months left on my restriction.

The bike im looking at is a 80's cb750k (thinking cafe racer )

Anyway i have a set of carb washers from my zzr6 restriction, do people think these would work on the cb? Obviously they wouldnt be exact, but thats not important.

on a side note does anyone have any experience with these bikes?

Hi

In crude terms the inner holes are probably about right (ie, 25kW requires X amount of air, irrespective of the bike and so about the same size restrictor washers), but won't be exact. However unlikely that the outer diameter would be close enough for them to fit.

Also does the CB750K use CV or slide carbs? If slide carbs I would suspect the washers after the carbs would make it run really badly.

I have a few sets of restrictors hanging around so if you can find the diameter of the rubber at either end of the carb I might be able to tell you what fits.

As keith says, some restrictors have heavily offset / eccentric centre holes to make sure the changes in airflow characteristics don't destroy the signal over the jets, or that the initial movement of hte slide isn't opening up against a steel wall!
