Just realised that we often post reports of our rides - but only in the SE section.
So here is the most recent:

Thumbs Up Mud lovely Mud. Thumbs Up
Hindhead to Alton route - Weather cloudy but dry, and with a nip in the air.
Attendees: Joe, Tatters, Adamski, MJ, Me and G.

My goggles decided to fall apart first thing in the morning ... so I set about them with some super glue ... only to find that I then superglued the foam bit to my nose when I put them on Embarassed

Started off from the Harvester at 8.45am ish.
Stopped for very few smoke breaks ... and with Tatters setting a nice steady pace, we completed the Hindhead part of the route by 10am ??
No major offs or breakages (just the standard mid speed slips and loss of number plates).

Hit the Alton part of the route ... very muddy and slippery.
G, Tatters, and MJ went through the 'bog' ... while the rest of us took the more technical and difficult route around the side. Wink
Stopped for a long needed smoke Thumbs Up

Further on, we find our way blocked by numerous fallen trees.
Mutterings of "its the ramblers that have pulled them down with landrovers" are dismissed as we tackle the 'obstacles' with gusto.

However, the next tree is a little more formidable ... and there is no way through.
Shame really, we were really enjoying the ride and have no choice but to turn back .. the sides dont look too bad here, but they were too steep to get bikes over.

I,ve brought one of theses now for next time the cu*ts set a blockade up like that, that tree had clearly been cut with a chainsaw and winched into postion to block the byway.

Mighty fine bit of kit and great for keeping you fit and warm!! Thumbs Up

Report it to the RoW officer at the council, land owners are meant to keep RoW clear and they're really not meant to go blocking them like that.

Worth a phone call. Smile
