today I had the THIRD experience in the last week. All times I have been stationary in the van, two times in a petrol station ffs.
Guy came past me today while I was parked, and took the mirror off the sprinter (not cheap) he didn't stop. I set off after him and got in front at the lights, he got out and went fucking mental, threatening to kill me, kicking my van, the works!!. I wouldn't have minded but the shithead was a midget (almost). Phoned plod who weren't interested really, I persisted though, and after having to go to police station (with my docs etc) they are going to prosecute him for leaving the scene?? nothing about the other criminal damage he did, or the threats. Going to see a plod mate tomorrow, see what my options are, the guy was a builder, in a pick up, and I have a few mates and relatives in the area who will maybe know him Twisted Evil .
Went to Merc to get the bits to repair the mirror straight away, the indicator bulb.............the BULB..........is £14.00..........................£14.00...............for a BULB Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
not a good day

Your bulb is probably far cheaper than that, Mercedes just add a 500% markup for insurance companies, leasers and mugs. I just had buy a new heated/tinted, wide angle mirror glass for my BMW due to a similar incident (unfortunately I didn't get his reg or a chance to dematerialize his face) and it's cost £13 on ebay, BMW price is about £40.

Sounds like he got the road rage not you.

I rarely get it anymore, infact the only time i can recall is when an asian taxi driver drove into me then said it was my fault, luckily the fare he was carrying agreed it was his fault and we got it sorted.

I get the rest of my bulbs trade, the small 5w push fit (that are £1 or more each) I can get boxes of 10 for £1.70. The guy I get them from has tried to source the stupid Merc ones for me but no luck at the moment.

Also I saw the lunatic pickup bloke again, he's a builder, and local. My cousin (major fuckin nutter, hardman, bouncer), has "offered his services" if need be. But currently waiting for plod to do their bit Rolling Eyes
They told me they will be issuing the guy with NIP for leaving the scene, not exchanging details. (nothing said about his criminal damage to my van or the threats he made though). Also when I attended local nick with my docs, they gave my van a good old inspection, and told me I needed to get the indicator bulb sorted, as it was an offence to drive round with it in that state Surprised Surprised .

No shit sherlock, are you CID?

Had a visit from a very nice WPC last night, also took some advice from a couple of mates who are coppers (I'm short of real mates Razz ).

Upshot is that the chance of a result for the criminal damage is about zero. Although he will still be fined and have his license endorsed for leaving the scene without giving details.

Turns out this guy is a farmer though, not a builder. And as such will probably have a shotgun certificate at least. The WPC said she will be having strong words with him and will advise that his behaviour in this incident will not go down too well when his shotgun certificate is reviewed.

I will settle for this as a decent result, given that I now know his name and where he lives Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil
