Have a look at some of the posts on this thread on the XRV forum - restrictions.

Seems vincentr1 (aka vincentyzfr1) is thinking of pushing the legal boundarys somewhat! Laughing Laughing

I noticed the original poster today asking for his account to be deleted and how to stop Google from indexing threads. I wondered what was behind this so I Googled vincentyzfr1 and found he was allegedly posting previously as vincentr1 on bike chat forums. This is a gem from vincentr1

"i want the r1 because i feel i'm ready for one, yes i'm well aware it's fast blah blah but i think to myself ''a bike will only go as fast as the throttle gets twisted'' and yeah i'm gonna de-restrict, my pals are on 600's and a few older folks 18/19 on 1000's.

i'm just wondering what the fines are etc for them"

Oh, and this thread...
Bike Chat Forums : Do police bother with numberplates, visors, exhausts?

Any coppers about? I'm sure there is enough to go on Laughing

Reading through I think 'Wow, a forum completely full of prudes' Razz... with one exception then notice I recognise the name, then come back and notice it's you.
Suppose it's typical of Honda owners Razz.

Hmm from reading that heres and interesting thought.....

My GS400 was old an knackered with little to no comp on one cylinder, most likely under 33bhp just down to age and wear (especially seeing as it struggled to touch 90). Accordingly I didn't have any restrictors on it in anyway shape or form...

Now if I crashed and the bike was fucked to the extent of being undynoable and the insurance company wanted to see some evidence of restriction, what would they do?

Could they justifiably use the claimed power output from the factory as what the bike "was" making (assuming that the bike in reality is under 33 for definate) and then proceed to screw me over that way?

It seems a little unfair to try and say that a 20 year old bike is making its claimed factory power...

Nothing... because the kitten police would have already had you hung drawn and quartered for all the cute fluffy kittens that you no doubt killed while riding without an FI certificate!

That forum isn't bad really, they're very helpful if you approach it the right way. However this is why I mainly stick to BCF, much more honest opinions without the need to rethink your post in case it hurts some poor kitty dumped in a bin in some far flung country... Laughing Thumbs Up
