is there any reason i shouldnt use a pair of wets as a regular tyre? i've been offered a pair pretty cheap, but would want them for summer riding too. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. In summery, mattsprattuk is a gobby little sh1tebag, dopehead tw4t, but sadly for all of us, he probably isn't THAT full of sh1te!!

If they are proper race wets:
Because they'll over-heat and get knackered with any kind of spirited riding most probably.
Because they are not road legal and look like a race wet if they're a block pattern.
They should offer good grip from cold and a fast warm-up time though.
Very much doubt they'll last 'till summer - on a drying track I will try and go through all puddles I can to keep them cook.
A single ten lap race with the wrong tyre choice will see you with knackered tyres. At mallory on the SV I made a very late call to go for supercorsas from the wets that were in. I started in the pit lane from the 'wrong' end, only allowed to start down the pit lane when the first riders had passed the other end of the pit lane. Think I ended up 10th or something, mostly going past people on wets, many of which retired after knackering them. Was quite fun so easily picking off so many . |
