Hi everyone,

Looking for a bit of advice, I am currently interested in getting a moto x bike (road legal) for using during the winter and having some fun in the surrounding hills/fields. Only problem is I dont really know much about them, only ever owned sportsbikes.

Had a look at a Kawasaki KX 250 which is for sale close to me, quite like the look of this but I'm 6"2 and 15 stone so not sure if this would be too small for me?

Does anyone have any suggestions of models I could look at priced between 1k - 2k.

Much appreciated!

Euan

Size wise, it will be fine. Power-wise, it will be more than fine too - you'll be limited by being dumped on your arse or being scared because you don't want to be chucked over the back, not the engine.
At £1k-£2k, any model you get should be fine providing the bike's in good nick.

A modern 250cc 2 stroke motocross bike is a very fast bike, worth considering; though generally more of an issue if you want to be 'on it' on a motocross track, where it can be a bit too full on.

Consider if you do want a motocross bike or an enduro bike.
Enduro bikes are a little heavier, but tend to be easier to ride and have longer service intervals as well as coming with road kit as standard.

Thanks for the help G, quite glad a 250 will be enough as I'm not really after anything massive power wise. Just something to a bit of fun on a Sunday. Will probably sell again in 8 months time. As for enduro that might be a consideration as it needs to be road legal.

Any model suggestions I can look at? Thanks
