 |
|
Been thinking of getting a minimoto for a while now. Decided im gonna get one and fettle it over the winter ready for some tracktime in the spring.
Looked into the CAG 49cc which can be picked up dirt cheap on ebay but they seem like a load of cack, and there deathly slow apparently. - although ive not ruled them out completely yet.
I like the looks of the Blata Oragami B1 reps, trelis frame style. Look a lot more solid. However they are water cooled so more to go wrong I suppose. They are slightly larger though which i prefer.
Been offered one for £120 which has brand new fairings, slick tyres, wavey discs etc. Is this about right??? Too much/bargain?
anyone have one or had one

I've got two B1 reps ... why have I got 2??? ... coz they are so fickle I needed to take a spare whenever I went minimotoing!!
Look on eBay to establish a 2nd hand price.
For £120 I'd want it with a polini 2 shoe clutch and bell already fitted. ____________________ The purpose of life is to fight maturity. |

Ye had a scout around ebay but the prices seem all over the place, some go for £80 some for £250. Blue, for a cheap bit of fun would you say go for a origami that seems in good shape or a cheap ass cag and just replace everything as its needed?? Ive noticed spares seem a little harder to come by for the b1 reps and a lot more expensive, but initially thought this was because they were more reliable |

I had a CAG before I had a B1 rep. The cag was cheap and slow, but after a couple of silly teething problems (like a brittle fuel filter) it never let me down.
The B1 rep was exactly the same cheap cr4p build quality, but where it was producing what 3 times the power and going what twice as fast??? these manufacturing defects became much more of a problem where reliability is concerned.
All this said, I love riding the B1 reps, as you said, they are a little bigger than other bikes, so makes it slightly easier for an adult to ride/fit on.
In short, youare going to be lucky to get you a B1 rep that won't cost you money and need lots of fettling to keep it running, but when it is running - they are more than a match for the 'proper' bikes!! ____________________ The purpose of life is to fight maturity. |
