Hi, I think from searching previous posts that this could be expensive or not worthwhile at all...but maybe you know better.

The battery on my speedfight prost has had it and no holding charge, now flat. I took the battery off and waiting for a new one, tried to charge off scooter but no go on putting it back on.

Wont even start on kick, no spark on new plug.

Still awaiting new battery, although enough in old battery to move fuel gauge but not lights.

Im thinking that the battery was off the scoot for too long and the immob has kicked in, but do the early units have an immobiliser 1999 on a V. Im probably still stuffed with a new battery as I only have the black key.

An ideas please, the poor thing only has 5,000 miles on it in 10 years. Cheers Rich

Yes all sorted, just put a new battery on it and been fine since.

Had an innobiliser bypass to go on it but no need, so sold it on ebay.

The scoot has an immobiliser fitted but a new battery was all it needed.

Cheers Rich

aha, lol, yeah, I ment to post about the immobiliser, is there a trick with the steering lock??

Infact this may sound strange but could you (step for step, treat me like I am a trainable monkey!) detail how to take it from a parked status to starting it up, wich stand does what etc.......

I know it makes me seem like a bit of a douche to ask this but I seem to have a sticky steering lock...

edit: one more bit of info if you could lol, if i put the key in, should the immobiliser light stop flashing before the ignition is turned??

Hi,

The steering lock on mine is fine.

To start from cold turn key fully around, leave throttle shut, pull a brake lever than press start button, or use kick start. For a hot start do the same but throttle open.

Mine would not start on kick even with a flat battery due to there not being enough battery power to power the immobiliser, so when a new fully charged battery went on the scoot the immobilser was powered and the scoot starts first press or kick.

The light on the dash has never flashed on my scoot, not really sure what it is for but never took any notice of it.

Hope this helps.
