Hi o'helpful people of this forum, hopefully this is an easy one to fix. I changed the main beam bulb of my ybr, and the full beam indication light on the panel is staying lit. Also with the full beam switch turned to off position, the light is on full beam.. and when it's turned to the on position the light goes to main beam.

Any ideas? Karma

It's probably none of these but the three things that spring to my mind are...Wet connection, wrong bulb, or you've bent the connection...

What did you change it for ?...Blown bulb or for a brighter one ?...As in, if the other bulb still works have you tried putting that one back in to see if you've still got the same problem ?...Tried removing the battery connections and reconnecting it ?...

*Just somethings that came to mind and stuff I'd have tried myself*...

On recent YBR models either the main beam or the dip beam will be lit when the bike is running. Toggling the beam switch will not turn off the headlight. So your problem doesn't actually appear to be a problem (unless I've misunderstood your post)

Does the blue light go out when you toggle the beam switch from main beam onto dip beam, because its meant to, if not you've either got a wet connection or incorrect bulb as mentioned or you've lost a connection, or even lost a couple and reconnected them incorrectly.

The bulb that needed changing had blown. So I checked the bulb spec in the user manual and ordered the same wattage buld but converted to a hallogen one instead.

The actual lighting isn't a problem as it still gives me the full beam and main beam but they are opposite on the switch...i.e. full beam=main, main beam=full

The full beam light remains on constantly (see image Wink ) regardless of light function.

I will try switching the wires around to see if that does the trick... will this blow any fuses though as I have none spare.

You shouldn't blow the bulb by just swapping over the main and high beam wires, as long as you do it with the ignition off. You know that you musn't touch then glass on a halogen bulb with your bare fingers ja?

Nah didn't know that to be honest.. How come?
