Don't bother with home kits.... go to a barbers... amount of times now i've trimmed and its fucked up and its resulted in a 0 all over... beyond funny now....

i keep my hair at a grade 1, piece of piss with clippers once a week

keeping an inch long, would prob mean keeping the sides and back shorter, which would be difficult to do yourself

I've used one of these for years, longer than a clipper cut, but not an inch long. Same short tidy lenght all over, great for helmet. Just run it over in the morning shower.

That Babyliss thing is terrible - a friend of mine got one and it just clogs up with hair really quickly. You'd be better off learning how to DIY with a regular set; it's not too difficult once you get the hang of it (although the missus does it these days...)

I use clippers every month or so, and have done for about ten years with no problems. If you just want the same length all over, it's dead easy, but it's possible to do back and sides shorter - I do a No.4 on top and a No.3 back and sides. You have to be careful - use a mirror, and one hand to stop you going too far up and it's eminently doable. For the fuzz at back of neck, that can be well tricky using a No.1... Best to get a mate/gf to help

For the cost of a pair of clippers every few years (£15-20, often xmas present ), it's saved me time and money (maybe £500 so far!) and you can do it in the morning before work if your hair grows madly overnight..

i was looking at that Babyliss thing myself, but like Syx says, I bet its not as easy as it looks on the adverts... Also, twice the price of a normal set...

Just razor blades. My hair was always short so no clogging. I use it in the shower start on longest setting now do all over on shortest setting. Works well for me. £10 ish saved me a fortune, do my grandsons with it too and he thinks i'm brushing his hair.

No styling tbh, uniform short hair all over. I do "up strokes" on my neck, round ears and sideburns for a tidier finish. YMMV.

I've done my own hair (whats left of it) for years, a willing girlfriend helps on the arm strain but its perfectly possible yourself with a good mirror or two.

I've used the above site for the past 3-4 years to supply the gear. Professional standard clippers i.e. don't go blunt after a few hours use like the shite you will find in argos for a similar price.

We have a Wahl. My dad uses it every week. I've not used it for 3 years, but when I was using it, I cut my own hair pretty much all the way through high school.

The clipper is ancient and as good as new.
