I've heard of torrents but not sure what they are of their application.

Some sort of video thing I think??????????

The way it works, is you download a 'torrent' from a site like pirate bay.

A torrent is like an code number, identifying a file that is available for download. The file exists for download, on anyone's PC who has made it available for download.

You then need some software such as utorrent. With this software, you open the torrent that you downloaded from a web site.

If a lot of people online have the file available on their computer, and you have broadband, a movie can download in an hour. If its something a bit rare, it may take weeks of your PC being on over night for it to download.

You can download many things at once this way.

Its particularly good for recent release movies and albums, but can also find the old stuff.
