Fail to comply with a non endorsable traffic sign **UPDATE**

Got a penalty notice through the door today, not in a brown envelope either!

£45 fine ( no points ) for 'Vehicle fail to comply with a non endorsable traffic sign - detected by means other than ACD

not found anything new looking around google, i'm abit baffled.
it says this happened on the 6th october 2008

to be paid by : sept 29 2009 ...

also at the top under my account number it says Born: 25th october 1958 which should be 1988 ....

the whole thing has confused me so i'm asking if anyone else has had anything similar or should i just bin the fucker as it's somewhat past the usual 6 month period.

it has 2 pieces of paper, the 2nd being 'ways to pay'
and it does say i can go 'over the counter' or go to court etc..

it's just my info is wrong, it happened so long ago and i never remember any fucking sign ( that if important, should be lit right? ) or camera flashing.

also don't they have to give you 14 days to pay?

It looks like a local council has issued a CCJ against you. Have you received anything about this in the post?.
I would immediately write to the court if you don't stating that you know nothing about this and could they please inform you of who is making the claim against you. Also request to put a stop on the time to pay as you dispute the amount on the grounds that you have never been served with any previous papers on the matter.
I would also point out that the persons details as listed do NOT correspond with your own and therefore they may have served the papers on the wrong person which would explain why you know nothing about the matter.

Nottingham iirc is basically a clearing house for CCJ's, they rarely bother to check the paper work just rubber stamp it.

Since you presumably never received either details of the initial claim or a summons to attend the court, you need to apply to have the judgement "set aside" .

Do people avoid jail with such defenses? I have not seen this although I have researched a tad on the subject.

I'm not paying it, they've tried it with bus lane fines in the past and not once have i ever paid one, i was in a strange area on the first occasion and went in one for no more than 100 meters untill i realised and got out, copper pulled me and gave me the piece of paper which just sat in my glove box untill the 6 month period was done. i know it's minor but if they want it they can literally come and get it, fucking government im sick of it.

there's fuckall of a good reason on there, without looking at google etc how the fuck would anyone know what that offence is ?

dates are screwed up

my date of birth is wrong

date of payment seems to soon

not had previous letters.

i'm tempted to record the fun phone call they are getting in the morning.
