Motorcycle/Scooter Security

As part of my studies im designing a new type of security to keep bikes safe.

All I need is recommendations and possible ratings of your favourite form and or brand of security. (Kryptonite, Oxford, Abus, Datatool etc)

I dont need to know what YOU have as such, but more what you would recommend and why?

I have done many searches but also need to collect more of a personal survey.

Any serious answers would be very much appreciated.

You may want to check thatcham.org site for the security ratings.

FWIW security devices are only for peace of mind and deterrent factor.
You don't always get what you pay for, expensive not always the best (but usually a good start point).
Let's face it, you don't really get to find out if they work*, only if they don't.

A big chain and a good solid disklock will keep your bike safe from all but the most determined thieves.

I'm not going to tell you what I have, mostly because I can't remember. But it's big and bloody heavy.

A locked garage at home.

A solid steering lock and big bastard chain when leaving it somewhere dodgy.

i live in an area generally on fire due to youths! Big ass chain, disclock are my recommendations. If it looks tough, hopefully the scrotes will leave it alone.
