Most memorable Christmas present you ever recieved

Everyone must have one particular present that stands out in their minds. The present that as a kid you spent months wanting and dropped hints about at every opportunity, until finally on christmas day, you got your grubby little hands on it.

I remember watching Number 73 one saturday morning and seeing a new bike advertised as a competition prize. It was the most amazing bike I had ever seen with a working radio and digital speedo, even the ability to make machine gun noises which at ten years old is the coolest thing in the world.

I dropped hints on a daily basis and went to the trouble of leaving a comic it was advertised in open all over the house.

I will always remember that Christmas morning and being up before anyone. The smell of the bike as I opened the box, the joy of being told to stop making machine gun noises at five o'clock in the morning while everyone was trying to sleep.

I have 2 my Raleigh striker I got when I was 7 notice the big plastic spring thing at the front, it was supposed to help with your balance when doing wheelies, (although mine was black) and a keyring my kids brought for me with their own monies when they were 6 and 4,
(edit) almost forgot the other thing my bike had was the old plastic clips you used to get on bread clipped on the spokes.

I can't find a bloody picture, but I remember I got a radio controlled Tyco Python car....... not only was it a radio controlled car that went super fast....you pressed a button and a cobra head popped up and would squirt water. I had hours and hours of fun with it, until my brother decided it would be great to take it out in the snow without me knowing about it.

I happened to look out the window and shouted at him for playing with my shit and told him to bring it back in. When he did there was smoke pouring from the battery compartment and that familar smell of burning circuit board. Needless to say, that was the end of that. Bastard.

When I was about seven or eight an older cousin bought me a full sized Tommy Gun toy that came apart like the real one and made a rat-a-tat-tat noise, from that day on I was obsessed with them and spent most of my pocket money as a child on more, I had them everywhere in my bedroom and used to take them apart and ( Pledge ) polish them like I'd seen in films ...

Couple of years back I had two crossed Tommy Guns tattooed below my belly button and I had a look a while back and found you could buy a full sized replica bb version thats an exact copy, so as soon as I've got just over two hundred quid to spare I shall be purchasing one and getting a mate to make me a stand for it and it'll take pride of place on my unit in the living room...

T1z3R Thats ace but how did you manage to keep the trainset for so long without having it in pieces. Pretty much every toy I ever owned was stripped down and rebuilt.

my most memorable present from childhood is one mu bought me - 'Beat the Black Ball' a game for 2- 4 players. What makes it memorable is the fact it was unplayed until I had kids as I am an only child with divorced parents, mum worked 2 jobs and I wasn't allowed friends in the house when mum was out at work, hence it never got used. Mum & I now still laugh about it now.

The most memeorable presents from adulthood are the very large bars of chocolate my kids saved up for every year and then the diamonte heart shaped earrings I got last year from Steve which were hidden in a bucket of maltesers.

Just remebered another, I used to be into American Football and I recieved a Vikings helmet one year as a kid, used to wear the fucking thing everywhere, to the shops, parties, family visits, bed, think I wore it in the bath aswell a few times...

As I got older and it started to look knackered from being bashed, dropped and worn to death I used to turn it around and eat the sponge from out of it...

Yeah, you have just read that last bit right...
