I am going to the Saatchi Gallery next week. I am looking forward to it a lot, has anyone been before?

Yes...but not recently, spent a fair bit of time looking around the outside of the building, as I am a bit of fan of architecture.

Pretty cool - when I went it was really quiet and there was a real sense of calm and serenity about the place, definitely an attraction to really immerse yourself in and take your time visiting.

Is it the school hols next week (I assume it must be if you're off - unless it's a school trip? Shocked). Might get a load of family outings spoiling your visit.

I went there ages ago. My favourite exhibit was a room half full of crude oil, with a walkway into the middle. Not quite sure what it was supposed to represent but I liked it nonetheless.

Aww, jealous! Wanted to go there for ages. My wife is an art teacher, I think we will have to make a pilgrimage over easter.

Really wanted to see the Anish Kapoor exhibition at the Royal Academy which featured a cannon that shot soft red wax balls at the wall, and a massive block of red wax being very slowly pushed through a doorway that was just a bit smaller than the wax. God knows what it meant, but what a sight, eh?!

Let me know what it was like

The oil was actualy waste sump oil. It is called 20:50 and is by Richard Wilson and I found it stunning. The room takes on an almost magical dimension as it is reflected in the dark oil mirror that fills every part of the room
The main exhibition is called The Empire Strikes Back and is all artists from the Indian Sub Continent was wonderfully refreshing and amusing, I recommend it to anyone.
We had a couple of hours spare and caught the tube to Tate Modern to see the new installation in the Turbine hall by Miroslow Balka Thumbs Up
