Yep, I do this sort of thing all the time!!
It should be noted that 'matched pairs' are just that, the profiles of them are coincidental so they give the most predictable handling characteristics. A mix and match will be just that, so the bike probably won't handle quite as well as on a matched pair .... some mix and match pairs will work well together, others will 'fight' each other a bit, so be more noticeable.
In summery, yes you can do it, but it MIGHT not handle as well as on a matched pair ... but if you are simply using the bike to commute ... who cares?!!?  ____________________ The purpose of life is to fight maturity. |

i use a BT45 on the front and a Conti Twist SM on the rear
I found this to be quite a nice setup for me...shed loads of rear grip and the faith i have in the bt45 is why the front is like that  |
