odyessy batteries

Since it is cold weather I thought I would ask if anyone has any experience of the such batteries as a friend of mine said cold weather kills them and my bike though ridden everyday though short journeys seems to be stuttering on start up.Fazer fz1 07

Had one on the R1150GS for 7 years now and starts first time every time even after the coldest snap, not bad considering it is a big twin. Well recommended.

The Odyessy Gel/sealed batteries are the best battery I've known. Use them on my Vmaxii for 5-6 years and never had any trouble... They aren't cheap but always started the big V4 no problemo

Problem is I have the fz1 and checked the size but dont know which battery would fit my bike ??

Don't bother with a new battery. Buy an optimate and use that to keep your current battery tip top. It's cheaper than a new battery (probably) and can be used on every bike/car/boat you'll ever own.

I've got one, used it on my track bike, road bike, and van.

^ I agree, a good charger is a must have; I have two (multiple bikes you see). However, there's no point continuously trying to keep a weak battery topped...invest in a good strong battery and a trickle charger

^^ Yeah..it will, but the problem with that is it's short term. From experience a battery can seem fully charged after say a weekend on the optimate...ride to work no trouble, try to start it up at 5pm and it'll be dead. Therefore... new strong battery and an optimate to keep it healthy

exactly what happened to me

i replaced ye olde YB14LA2 top-up-with-distilled-water battery with a nice posh AGM one from Wemoto.

there is nothing wrong with my battery its been on the bike 2 n half years with short journeys mixed with some long runs.but what i do want is a better battery that starts up better in colder conditions as my original one is stuttering by the time 5pm comes around

I fitted an Odyssey after Fingalong's (and other's) recommendation about 18 months ago.

Litre V-twin starts first time every time even at -7deg C, no multiple tries, no cranking over on the starter (if you know what I mean) as can sometimes be the case before it fires.

I looked up the type on the Odyssey website then bought it for 1/2 price on eBay, and because the battery is so reliable I don't need to have it continuously connected to an Optimate etc...
