fookin ice!!?

Well this ice is definitely giving me a learning curve. Late for work this morning and found my bike frosted over fully, so wiped it all down and removed the frost and found that my key wouldn't go into the ignition it was frozen solid. Got some hot water and it did the trick!

Finally got going and as i was going down the road I tapped the back break to check how much play I had before the bike lost grip and the back wheel kicked out and started snaking... almost went down but the back wheel gripped a patch and popped me back straight. Realised I needed petrol so stopped at the next station and realised I couldn't get my bloody key out. Ha ha, interesting morning.

Just hope the temp increases so I can get home after work.

Ahh this bloody weather, its freezing here, I washed my bike down before, put some anti-corrosion on the engine etc. The water was freezing nearly after it hit the bike, washing it was a bit touch and go as it was freezing and the floor is like an ice rink.

Luckily I don't have to go out or anything.

I did 320 miles yesterday, took 10 hours, not particularly fun. Had to piss on my visor to de-ice it. M180 was complaetely iced over to the point where the back occasionally stepped out with no input from the throttle. Got off the motorway in Scunthorpe, was going up a gentle hill, halfway up completely lost traction and slid back down backwards. An incredibly unpleasent but pretty hilarious experience.
There was also a road that was very icey where the bike would only do 9mph, brakes- nothing, bit of throttle, engine note changes but no change in speed, up to second - no change in speed, bit of throttle in second - bike goes sideways at 9mph. thank fuck it was straight.

I also parked in a really stupid place in Gordano services

I remember last winter the moment it would go sub zero my clutch would become slightly sticky but my throttle.... that wouldn't come back down again so I would be going along up to 5000 revs, clutch in and suddenly I'm red lining it..... not the best way to attempt to get in to the next gear. On the plus side I managed to get up a few hills for the first time without holding on to the handle bars

If it got really cold both levers would stick completely, sometimes mid ride. That was scary. Thankfully, all is fine so far this December.
