GSF600 Bandit, Losing power and stalling?

Hi there. My bandit has been running fine since I bought it 8 month's ago. Since the cold weather has started, my bike has been having more and more trouble starting(naturally I use the choke for a few minutes when I need to get it started)

But after about 5 minutes of riding, my bike will start to lose power, acceleration and response. If I have to stop I gotta keep the rev's at about 3-4k otherwise it will stall, where I then need to give the bike a lot of throttle just to get it started. If I choke the bike again, it will run fine for atleast another 10min.

This has been happening for a few weeks, so I was adviced to use Silikolene FST Pro, it helped a little, as the bike would stall less often.

My bike has been standing for 3 days in the freezing tempretures. I used it today for work, got there fine(naturally had to choke for a minute or two to get it ticking over) However on the way home it died completely after a few minutes, but this time I couldn't choke. It just would not work at all. Choke was on full, but it made no difference at all(Luckily the bike was still warm so it started again).

Also this time, it didn't seem to have lost power, yeah I had to keep the rev's at 3-4k to stop it from stalling, but seems it had more power this time, it didn't struggling to get moving from a stop like it usually did.

Sorry if it all sound's complicated, but I know almost nothing regarding mechanics of bikes.

Carb Icing ? maybe, my old superfour used to have simalar problems in the mornings with the cold weather, used to be fine at a standstill but when moving it would occasionally splutter and lose power like what you are saying.

not sure what you can do to prevent it really, if it is that.

that to me sounds like defo carb icing my old bandit 600 did that right go to ya local garage and ask for SILKOLENE PRO FST that will stop the carb icing

Also, take out your plug caps and spray wd40 or similar on the connectors, and on the non coated metal on the coils.

Mine used to get icy on those bits.

Does sound like carb icing, but that does seem unusually bad.

Turning out your pilot screw and raising the needle in the carburettors will help a bit-bikes tend to be jetted pretty lean from the factory, which makes icing a problem.

Ironically Ive had less issues with carb icing on the bikes where Ive run pod filters as the main jets have been far richer than on a bike with an airbox.
