First Bike MK2

Hello all,
So it's been a while since my first post on this matter of a first bike and needless to say much has changed. After researching a fair bit and looking at several bikes I've decided I want to go down the route of 4 stroke trail bikes. This is because Ill be doing a fair level of commuting as well and as a poor student need to conserve cash.

Problem is though, I have no idea what bike buy! I went and looked at a Honda XR125 today and I gotta say it just didnt tick all the boxes, so could you kind folks help me out by suggesting any kind of 125 trail bike in and around the margin of about 1K?

XR is a fine bike i'd say. I'd be very tempted by a 2 stroke though, especially a DT.

Well I went to have a nosy at an XR yesterday and initially I was a fan, but it seemed a big sluggish- is that something to be expected out of all 4 stroke 125s?

As for a DT yes I was tempted myself, but I dont think a 2 stroke is what Im after.

Have you considered a Suzuki DR-125?
