Cb250 forks help

Hey, got a 1993 cb250n here, and im trying to remove the bolt at the bottom of each fork leg so i can remove the upper part and in turn change the oil seals

But when i try to undo the bolt it just spins, my workshop manual suggests putting the cap and spring back on, but this doesnt seem to help and it continues to spin without loosening off

Is there another way to remove and replace the oil seal? Or am i doing something retarded tying to get the bolt out

What I do for things like that is get a broom stick (sharpened/shaped a bit at the end so it wedges into the dooberyferkin inside the fork) place the fork over the top of it, push down hard then undo the bolt. Works every time for me.

if you are careful and you have access you can use an airgun with a hex allen socket,the shock should undo the bolt...............hope this helps

A REALLY long extension bar, with a socket to fit in the top of the damper. If its like ones ive encountered before the top of the damper has a female hex, so you will need something like a massive allen key. One way to improvise this is to find a box spanner and drive it over a socket, then weld or braze it in place.

There is probably a honda tool to do it. If its anything like the one for my old Gixx 11 its not expensive either.

The bolt is no boubt seized in there after the almost two decades of corrosion, and honda probably used thread lock as well X-D
