Instrument lighting

My SLR650 has 1 bulb that lights the instrument panel but it isn't very bright, I'm wanting to try and replace it with a slightly brighter bulb which I'm hoping won't make too much difference to the rest of the electrics. To get to this bulb I have to remove the front light and wiring which'll take a while, so rather than do this twice (once to find out the bulb power, twice to actually swap the bulb!) direct from the manual which bulb in this list do you think is the instrument panel bulb!?

I'm guessing it's the 'meter light' but then what the hell's the 'position' light!?

Position light is the side light.

Parking light sometimes know as postion light, small lamp located below the main/diped beam lamp in the headlight.

Ahhh gotcha! So by using the method of deduction the meter bulb MUST be the instrument panel light right?

How about swapping in an LED which will be brighter but use less/the same power as the previous bulb?

LED's come with a rating at which current they operate at the best. They need a resistor to stop the voltage and hence current from going too high and damaging it.

Also, standard filament bulbs are made in a way so that they have resistance and that the hotter it gets the more it resists. LED's do not have this property.

Well I'm not sure about the LED's yet, however I've found my current bulb's on Ebay - item no. 140364772881

And I'm thinking of getting itm no 370302669781 as a replacement - anyone see any prob's with this?
