Hi Craig

Sounds like you've bought an aftermarket type like a Fresco which uses springs to hold the exhaust on.

They have a separate collar, with lugs for these springs, which fits into the exhaust port, and bolts in as normal. The exhaust header then slides over this and is secured in place by the two springs.

This collar is what you need to make this exhaust fit, try getting in touch with the importer - Mito UK.

TEL: 01202 667 323

They've always been very helpful & I'm sure they could get hold of one for you.

Post up some pictures of the project !

Cheers
Dave

Interesting... but GAWD it's hard work to understand what you're on about!

Can you try typing on 'old folks' language for the grammatically challenged old duffers like me?

This is not a 'dig', BTW. My Gran was a Signals operator during WWII, was at Bletchley for a while; and GPO Telegraph after the war; so we grew up using 'signals-shorthand' between the family; what has become elite and then txt-spk... but BOY, your's is hard work!

Back to bikes.... interesting project, but strugling to work out what you are doing with it.

Blog of my slightly earlier air-cooled DT linked in sig-bar if you're interested. Now, must go try find a way to secure the battery.

On which subject; yours is an early 83 model. Is that still 6v electric or were all the LC's 12v?

If 6v, wondering if the 12v conversion I have used may work on yours?
