I posted this in the wrong topic the other day and forgot to repost it.

I built up a years NCB with Swinton Bikes, May 2008 - 2009, I think got my ZX6R in July 2009 and took out a policy with Simply Bikes and they took the NCB.

My renewal is coming up in July obviously but since a few things have changed, I did a re-quote and it came out almost £300 cheaper with another company and similar excess etc.

Question is, if I wanted to move to them, would I lose my 2nd year NCB I'm building up now? Do I have to carry on with Simply Bikes until July to retain the 2nd year NCB or can I transfer it to a new company and just pay a cancellation fee with Simply Bikes?

You don't get your "year" of no claims bonus until the end of your full year (under standard 12-month insurance policies).

And you can't take away a partial year of NCB. Even if there's only one day to go Evil or Very Mad

So therefore, based on what you've said, you need to wait until the end of your current policy before you have 2 years NCB to use.
