Was about to post this up in a new thread.
Glad I checked this out first.
I think a lot of us would of done the same in their situation. But I can also see the other side where they should be out there doing something. ____________________ "Let's face it, this is not the worst thing you've caught me doing."

It's a harmless bit of fun...but think of the kind of self righteous arseholes who pull you over and are determined to give you a ticket for something petty. Sack the fuckers! ____________________ The RXS100: vehicle of choice for Chuck Norris |

Are you joking?
I bet you're a right fun guy to work with. |
I can be, I'm not actually to bothered about it. Have you ever tried ringing the police and been told there's nobody available at the moment?
Last time our car got done, it took three days to see a police officer! I lived over the road from the cop shop, 50yrds maximum.
Guess it just irks me a bit, I'm no killjoy, but they are in a position of responsability. If it was a group of builders sledging down the hill, fairy muff! My conservatory can wait for that extra 5 minutes, what about your missus being raped on the other side of the park? Could she wait?
Tbh with the "let off" bit of my original post, It was more a case of this video will go round the Internet and the news, making your friendly local police force look even more daft and a waste of time in public opinion.
Any other job, you'd be sacked for bringing your company to disrepute! I'm sure people have been sacked for far less.

They're only human.
Look at how much of the country took days off cos of the snow (either because they genuinely couldn't get to work, or because they wanted the time off, possibly to play sledging). Do you think all those people should be dealt with in the same way you think those cops should? |

Now It's well known on here that I'm not exactly the biggest fan of the police, but seriously what the fuck is the problem?
To be honest I'm more concerned that this is deemed to be news than I am about this whole fuss.

You know, that's a rare kind of post on BCF, one that is genuinly heartwarming.
Could you immagine a world where every police officer just thought "fuck it", dropped their kit and started to do things like this with a big smile all the time. /daydream.
Also the whole argument about how this is supposed to somehow be at the taxpayers' expense, "oh noes the shields are getting damaged!"
...Am I missing something here or is that not a RIOT shield?
Probably constructed from a ballistic grade reinforced polymer fibre something, designed to withstand chairs, bottles, molotovs, rocks, garabage cans and whatever other street furniture is to hand.
Yet people are complaining that a tall but lean officer might break it? Jeez people really need to start thinking for themselves.

These guys don't strike me as the 'self righteous, take everything with a stern face and harsh attitude' type.
These officers were having a laugh just like anybody else is entilted to and nobodies getting hurt as a result.
I'd put these lot in the same category as the officer in the unmarked 5 series that I overtook at around 50miles and hour whilst knee down on a roundabout,
They pulled up and waited on the layby for me and I spotted them as I came back around.
I pulled up expecting to lose my license again, the one officer walked up to me and started to talk in a very pleasant, even a jovial manor once I had removed my lid.
He did the usual checks then to my massive disbelief told me that he wasn't going to take any action,
explaining that he knew it was a common area for this sort of behaviour and that his partner was a biker and wouldn't let him hear the end of it.
He took a photo of my plate (whilst pissing himself in laughter because of the size of it)and advised me to lay low for a bit.
Therefor, if the boys in blue need to occasionally take a break and goof around abit, then aslong as it's at nobodies expense then maybe it's a good thing.
Maybe it's this sort of thing that allows officers to remain level headed and not actually use fair and proper judgement in thier dealings with the public.
I know I'd much rather have them 'wasting time' like this than poking thier nose in business that doesn't concern them. |

You seem to think their wages are paid in magic beans and fluffy bunny hugs.

Well, technically, yes it is.
